This multivitamin tree is found in tropical and subtropical regions all over the world with semiarid and monsoonal climates. It is a plant, which is relatively easy to propagate given its low requirements in terms of nutrients and water and its large climatic tolerance. Additionally its leaves can be harvested at any time once trees are established.
Rarely found in other plants, Moringa leaves contain all the essential amino acids (proteins). The leaves contain a high concentration of vitamin A, B, C, minerals and amino acids, methionine and cystine. The leaves are also an outstanding source of calcium, protein and potassium.
